Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer is a copolymer of ethylene, propylene and a small amount of non-conjugated diolefin, which is a kind of ethylene propylene rubber, expressed as EPDM, because its main chain is composed of chemically stable saturated hydrocarbons, and only contains unsaturated double bonds in the side chain, so it has excellent aging resistance properties such as ozone resistance, heat resistance, and weatherability, and can be widely used in automotive parts, waterproof materials for construction, wire and cable sheathing, heat-resistant hose, adhesive tapes, car sealing parts and other fields.

Application

Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPM) and Ethylene Propylene Diene Rubber (EPDM), mostly used in the wire and cable coated wire, heat-resistant transport belt (<150 ºC), steam hose, sealing ring, automobile with a wide embedded strip, sealing materials and used in some parts of the tire (such as sidewalls, etc.), for waterproofing materials (such as waterproofing layer, rolls, etc.), but also can be used in conjunction with other general-purpose adhesive, to improve the latter's aging resistance and heat resistance. It can also be used with other general-purpose rubber to improve the aging resistance and heat resistance of the latter. Blended with polypropylene can greatly improve its cold resistance and toughness. Ethylene propylene rubber can also be partially crystallized and blended with polyolefins (mainly polypropylene, polyethylene) made of thermoplastic elastomers, has great prospects for application!
