Overview
Dibutyl phthalate, also known as dibutyl phthalate or dibutyl fat, English: Dibutylphthalate, for the colourless transparent oily liquid, specific gravity 1.045 (21 ºC), boiling point of 340 ºC, insoluble in water, water solubility and volatility is very low, but soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and benzene and other organic solvents Chemicalbook can also be mutually soluble in most of the hydrocarbons. It is soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and benzene. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and dioctyl phthalate (DOP), diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) for the three most common plasticisers, plastics, synthetic rubber and artificial leather and other commonly used plasticizers. It is produced by heating esterification of phthalic anhydride and n-butanol.
