Product Description

   Sodium octadecate is an organic compound with the formula C17H35COONa. It is a white, oily powder with a slippery and fatty odor. Soluble in hot water or hot alcohol. The aqueous solution is alkaline due to hydrolysis, and the alcohol solution is neutral. It is prepared by the interaction of octadecanoic acid. It is used in the manufacture of toothpaste and is also used as a water repellent and a plastic stabilizer.
