Zinc oxide, an inorganic compound with the chemical formula ZnO, is an oxide of zinc, insoluble in water, ethanol, soluble in acid,  ammonium chloride, is a commonly used chemical additive, widely used in the production of plastics, silicate products, synthetic rubber, lubricating oils, paints and coatings, ointments, adhesives, foodstuffs, batteries, flame retardants and other products. Zinc oxide has a large energy band gap and exciton binding energy, high transparency, excellent room temperature luminescence performance, and is used in liquid crystal displays, thin film transistors, light emitting diodes and other products in the semiconductor field.
